Wood Floor Styles & Finishes in the Dallas/Fort Worth TX Metro Area

Types of Wood Floors

Dalworth Clean's customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area style their homes and offices with a variety of wood flooring, from Solid Wood to Engineered Wood to Laminate Flooring. The type of style one chooses depends on various living conditions as well as expense and durability.

Solid Wood Floors

Solid Wood Floors are exactly what the name implies: a solid piece of wood from top to bottom. The thickness of the wood may vary, but generally ranges from 3/4" to 5/16". One of the many benefits of solid wood is that it can be sanded and refinished many times. Dalworth Clean's Wood Revitalization is a sure process to keep your solid wood floors looking brand new!Wood Living

Engineered Wood Floors

Engineered Wood Floors are real wood floors that are manufactured using three to nine layers of different wood veneers. The sub-layers can be of the same, or different, wood veneers. The grain of each layer runs in different directions, which makes for a very stable wood flooring. This means the wood will expand and contract less than solid wood flooring during fluctuations in humidity and temperature. The top layer of engineered wood is of high-quality wood. While this type of flooring can be sanded and refinished, it cannot be done as many times as the solid wood flooring. Dalworth Clean uses the latest industry equipment and smoothing and renewing techniques to clean, repair and renew your wood floor surfaces.

Laminate FlooringWood Floor Kitchen

Laminate Flooring is not real wood, but a hybrid of wood flooring. It looks uncannily like hardwood but is far from it. Yet, it's not vinyl tiling and not engineered wood flooring, but it is a little of all of those things. Some consumers like it due to it's easy installation. It can be installed by several hundred square feet in one weekend. Laminate flooring is easy to clean, but it cannot be sanded or refinished. It is made with a surface layer of two thin sheets of paper impregnated with melamine. The surface layer is a photograph of wood grain and is usually covered by a hard transparent layer impervious to pets, furniture and other scratching amenities.
